Spillows was founded by Kalina Hayes, a creative problem-solver with a passion for craftsmanship. While studying theater at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Kalina honed her skills in costume construction—skills that would later prove invaluable in a very different industry. When a family friend struggled to find grease socks in a custom size for his business, Kalina saw an opportunity to help. She dove into research, tested materials, and perfected her construction methods, determined to deliver a product that was effective, reliable, and affordable.
What began as a one-off solution quickly grew into a full-time business. After graduating from VCU, Kalina dedicated herself to building Spillows, refining her manufacturing process to ensure every grease sock met the highest standards of quality.
